It seems we only get the camera out on holidays and "big" occasions. My goal for 2011 is to take a picture each day of the normal everyday moments that make us a family. This blog is to keep the images together so one day Zach can enjoy them.
January 31st
Tonight Chris was scooping snow, and Zach wanted to help. He grabbed his little shovel and tried so hard to push the snow just like Daddy. Watching these two together is the best part of my day!

Today was Zach's final birthday celebration, and it did not disappoint. We went out to the farm, which is quickly becoming one of Zach's favorite places. On the whole drive out there he kept repeating "Big tractors. Me drive." Over, and over, and over. He did get to go on a tractor ride, but fell asleep halfway through! Thank you to everyone who made Zach's 2nd birthday so special for him, and for us! Check out more pictures from the farm birthday party HERE.

Today we celebrated Zach's 2nd birthday with the Palmer side of the family at an Elmo themed party at our house. There were Elmos everywhere! Zach had so much fun playing with Noah and hanging out with Papa & Grandma. Grandma made him a very special baby boy doll named Buddy, along with some outfits. The first picture was taken when Zach saw the doll for the first time. He LOVED it. The second picture is Noah & Zach attacking the Elmo cake with their party blowers. Check out more pictures from the party HERE or click HERE for a slideshow.

Tonight I walked upstairs and saw this going on in Zach's room. I fell in love with Chris all over again. Little Man, you and I definetly won the Daddy/husband lottery! Thank you for everything you do Chris. I don't tell you that nearly enough. This life we have built together is way more than I ever could have imagined!

What a day! It was so hard picking a picture from today because I took over 120. :) This one probably had to be my favorite. He loves to "cheers" and clink glasses, and his second birthday was quite an event to celebrate. Check out more of my favorite pictures of the day HERE or see a slidehow of them HERE. Happy 2nd birthday Little Man! Your Mommy & Daddy love you more than words can express. You have filled the past 2 years (and 9 months) with so much love and laughter!
January 25th
Zach loves to look at the "fishies" at Bass Pro Shop & Wal-Mart, so for his 2nd birthday we decided to get him his own fish tank. I think it blew his little baby mind when he first saw it. The first picture is of him telling Daddy about the truck in the tank. The second picture is what happened when he tried to feed the fish for the first time...and the reason I am pretty sure most 2 year olds don't have fish tanks. Live and learn!

This picture is the perfect representation of you right now...in one hand you are holding a "big boy" tool wanting so badly to be big and help Daddy...and in the other hand picking your nose like a little guy. I love you more than words can express, but I can't wait until this nose picking phase is over! :)
January 23rd
Two of your favorite things...Tony & pizza! Hopefully you are learning patience, because your Mama never did.
January 22nd
You love cuddling with Mommy, so when you sit with Daddy and cuddle, his heart about bursts. Today we had a lazy day at home. Here you are eating cheese popcorn and watching Police Academy. It must be engrained in boy's DNA to like dumb comedy!
January 21st
When we were looking at houses to buy, Chris checked out the electrical, plumbing, and foundation while I looked at decorations and pictures on the wall! I LOVED the ones where you could tell they adored their kids. I want that feeling in our home. I finally got the family picture Chris got me for Christmas hung up, and added to our "Zach Shrine" in the living room. If you can't tell within minutes of walking in that we are pretty proud of our Little Man, then you must be blind! :)

I am in LOVE! Of course I love the cute little man in the middle, but I am head-over-heels over the chair covers Peggy made for my new barstools my very generous parents got me for Christmas. It is funny how adding something new to a room makes you fall back in love with some of your old stuff too.
January 19th
Tonight we went to eat at Noodle Zoo in Ankeny. You LOVE the mac n' cheese there, and the owner Kim LOVES you. She took you by the hand and you walked across the restaurant with her to pick out a special cookie. You chose the one with M&M's (mmmmmms as you call them) and brought it back to the table so proudly. With the concentration of a surgeon, you tried to pick out every last piece of colorful candy. You have a way of charming even strangers!
January 18th
Another day, another task you wanted to help with. You love vacuuming, and your parents are gracious enough to let you help with the housekeeping! You are so lucky to have such amazing parents that are willing to share icky jobs like cleaning!
January 17th
You have turned into quite the big helper these days. Your favorite task is helping to empty the dishwasher, and you beam with pride when the job is done. Almost 2 is such a fun age!
January 16th
Today we went to the farm to celebrate Great Grandma Huntrods' birthday. You were so excited to see the tractors and 4-wheelers...but your face lit up when you saw Uncle Kyle was there. You adore him, and he feels the same about you.
January 15th
We are very lucky to live so close to both sides of our families. They all love spending time with you. Today you are spending the night at Grandma & Papa's house so Mom & Dad can have a date night. When you are gone, the house just isn't the same...even Couper was sad.
January 13th
You LOVE bath time. If anyone mentions bath, you march upstairs and try to climb in the tub, clothed or not. You aren't so sure about bubbles yet since they stick to your hands. You say "bubbles messy" and start to panic...our little clean freak!
January 12th
You beat to the sound of your own drum Little Man, and Mommy wouldn't want it any other way. It is so much fun watching your personality blossom more and more everyday.
January 11th
It has been a big transition for both Couper & Kacy since you were born. They used to rule the house, and now you do. Kacy (Eye-Eye as you call her) is pretty happy you share your chair with her though.
January 10th
I am not sure who is more excited about playing trucks and tractors...you or Daddy, but it is so much fun to watch you two play together. Mommy loves her boys!
January 9th
I think you have seen your daddy walk around in his underwear a little too much because you got your sense of style from him. Diaper and Elmo rain boots is definitely a styling look.
January 8th
I can't remember what you were so happy about, but your enthusiasm about life is a joy to watch. Your smile and laughter are definitely contagious.
January 7th
Friday you went to Monster Jams with all of the Palmer boys. Everyone said you were SO well behaved, and enjoyed your special Daddy-time. You came home talking about "Big Trucks"!
January 5th
Your dad tries to be big and tough, but he is a big teddy bear. In this picture, he is trying to be mean, but notice the slight smile.
January 3rd
Ut oh...you have finally noticed the TV! Every morning you lay in our bed while we get ready for work and ask Daddy to put Elmo on. On this particular day you became entranced by one of Daddy's car shows.
January 2nd
You got all sorts of trucks and tractors for Christmas, and you are finally learning to sit and play! It is so much fun to watch your imagination grow!
