July 30th

Have you ever seen an ISU football player wearing 5 inch Michael Kors heels?

Now you have!

I fully intend to pull this picture out and embarass the heck out of Zach in about 15 years!

July 29th

I got to spend my 33rd birthday with these 2 handsome fellas...which makes me the luckiest girl in the world!

July 28th

Any man (or boy) that bakes for you is a keeper!

Today the boys made me a cherry pie for my birthday.  It was the cutest thing to watch and it was delicious!

July 27th

I have a pretty amazing mom.  The older I get, the more I realize just how amazing she is.  Tonight we celebrated my birthday with fish bowls; she always works so hard to make everyone feel special.  It is a trait she inherited from her mother.  I am so lucky to have her.

At Preschool this year, the kids planted a seed, decorated a pot, and watched their flower grow.  The teachers sent it home on Mother's Day as a present from the kids.  I am not good with house plants.  I either over water them or completely forget about them.  Zach LOVED this plant.  He anxiously waited for it to bloom for over 2 months.  I even had to repot it, but this week it FINALLY bloomed.  I was so happy we kept it alive I felt like we had won the lottery!

July 20th

We spent Friday night in a hotel in Minneapolis.  Saturday morning we went swimming and went back to the Mall to visit the Lego Store one more time.  It is completely overwhelming and so cool at the same time.  Zach rode the bumper cars a few more times and got to meet a member of the "foot clan" (bad guy in Ninja Turtles).  He was FREAKED out.  The best part of the trip was when Mimi "attacked" the foot clan with a karate kick & punch.  I REALLY wish I would have gotten a picture of that!

July 19th

We watch A LOT of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cartoons at our house.  When Nickelodeon kept advertising that 2013 was the "Summer of Turtles" at the Mall of America, I knew we had to go!  Fridays were the only day you could meet all 4 turtles at once so we headed up Friday morning.  Zach was THRILLED and in complete awe.  He also got to meet Spongebob & Squidward.  My mom & I had fun shopping while the boys rode rides.  It was a great day!!

July 14th

Tonight before dinner the boys decided to swim at Craig & Peggy's.  Noah & Zach love jumping in and even Memphis enjoyed splashing.  After dinner Chris & Randy swapped vehicles.  Randy took home a motorcycle to take Noah for a ride.  We took home the mustang.  At the last minute we decided to check out the fireworks for Ankeny's Summerfest.  We was a perfect summer night for it!

July 13th - Afternoon

After the Color Run Zach & I headed home and took really long showers.  When Chris got done teaching, we headed to Ames for Jr. Cyclone Club packet pick-up.  Zach got to try on pads & a helmet, color, explore the Jacobson building, and see Cy!  We are officially ready for football season.  Go State!

July 13th

Sorry I am a little behind blogging.  July has been a busy month!

A few months ago my cousin Erin came up with the idea to do the Color Run in Des Moines.  All of the Huntrod(s) ladies created a team named "Who Let the Rods Out?"  We let Zach join too since he ups the cute factor for the team.  We had a BLAST and were covered in color.  The pictures start out with some Before/Afters.  I brought the stroller for Zach but he actually did a great job walking and even jogged a bit with Amber.  He thought the morning was pretty special!

Zach's goal in life is to invited to play with the "big" boys across the street.  When they are outside playing he stands at the sidewalk and watches just waiting for them to ask him over.  Wednesday night the "big" boys came to our house to play with Zach's inflatable bumper ball.  Our boy was in heaven to be the coolest kid on the block for the night.

July 6th

Saturday Chris & Zach rode the motorcycle to Good Guys at the fairgrounds.  They met my parents and Kyle & Amber.  Zach had a great time looking at the hotrods.  Sometimes he gets confused and calls the cars "huntrods"...which I find extremely adorable since I spent most of my pre-married life with people mistakenly thinking my last name was Hotrod.  Zach carried around my little camera and took pictures of cars he liked...execpt when I looked at the camera most of the pics were of random people walking around.  haha

July 5th

Since Chris & I had to work on Friday and Karen was still on vacation, Zach spent the day with Mimi.  They went to the lake and drove Papa's remote control boat and played in the water and headed back to town for Zach's final swim lessons.  He got a certificate of completion and "graduated".  He was pretty proud of himself and did a wonderful job.

July 4th

We had a GREAT 4th of July.  We started the morning out at the Urbandale parade.  We got to park & sit at the house of one of Chris' co-workers so it was hassle free.  After the parade we headed to the lake with Mimi & Papa & Mimi's friend Jean.  The weather was nice and warm and the water felt great.  Since Chris & I both had to work Friday we skipped Thursday night fireworks.
