October 30th

Tuesday night was Beggar's Night in Ankeny.  We started the night out with a pumpkin shaped pepperoni pizza to set the mood.  It was chilly outside, but not too unbearable.    Zach lasted about 45 minutes until he was "too tired to walk".  His joke was "Why don't skeletons fight?  Because they don't have the guts!"  He thought it was pretty funny and did a great job walking up to houses by himself.  Since we ended so early we decided to stop at Kyle & Amber's and Mimi & Papa's.  Zach was one tired Scooby by the end of the night!

October 29th

We feel so blessed we have so much family close by.  Tonight we had dinner at Great Grandma Palmer's and trick-or-treated with Memphis and Noah.  Papa & Grandma were there too handing out treats.

October 28th

Another day, another great-grandma to trick-or-treat for!  Today we stopped at Grandma Bailey's to gather some treats.  Zach hadn't had a nap and was a tad uncooperative while taking pictures, but he loves exploring Grandma's porch!

October 27th

Saturday we headed to the farm to trick-or-treat.  Zach had fun riding the 4-wheelers and looking at Grandma's garden.  He ate at least 4 chocolate chip cookies she made after eating pizza for lunch.  He is one growing boy!

October 26th

Friday night was the annual Huntrod family Jack-Off (Jack-o-lantern carve-off).  My mom made the best chili ever (it had bacon in it and no beans!) and great times were had by all.  Zach had fun drilling holes in his pumpkin and working on carving and playing with glow sticks.

October 25th - Night

Thursday night Zach and I went to a Halloween party at the library in Ankeny.  He got lots of treats, but would have been content just playing with the trains and reading books!

October 25th

Today they are celebrating Halloween at Karen's house.  I stopped by at lunch to get a few pictures.  All of the kids were all hyped up on sugar and running around!  Poor Karen!

Lexi the owl, Tyler the dinosaur, Zach the Scooby Doo, Memphis the dragon, & Liam the grasshopper

October 24th

Tonight Zach and I made cupcakes for his Halloween party at Karen's house.  That boy LOVES chocolate!  After he was done licking the beaters, he would dip them back in the badder and lick again!

October 23rd

I had the best of intentions when it came to the pumpkin patch this year.  I wanted to go the week before vacation because I knew there wouldn't be a lot of people, but we were just too busy.  We still haven't made it and now the weather is yucky.  I am embarassed to say we picked our pumpkins from Earl May in Ankeny on the way to dinner tonight.  They were all on sale for $1.99 because they are worried they are going to rot before Halloween.  I still managed to get a cute picture of Zach with pumpkins so that makes me happy.  Maybe next year we will get it together a little more and actually make it to a pumpkin patch!

October 20th - Phineas & Ferb

Saturday afternoon Chris and Zach went to Phineas & Ferb Live.  (Phineas & Ferb is a TV show on the Disney channel about 2 brothers who have a pet platypus named Perry who is a secret agent and fights a mad scientist that creates inventions to take over the tri-state area).  They had a great time.  The last picture is Zach right before he threw up in Chris' popcorn because he was scared Dr. Doofenshmirtz was going to shoot him with one of his -inators.

October 20th

How cute are these two?

October 18th

This week we are dog sitting Sophie.  Zach just LOVES when she is at our house.  Our cat feels quite the opposite!

October 6th - 13th - Vacation 11

Last but not least...

The best part of Destin was the beach.  The sand was snow white and actually squeaked when you walked on it because it is so fine and powder like.  The area is called the Emerald Coast because the water is such a pretty green.  Zach was so comfortable in the water and had so much fun.  I cannot wait to go back someday!
