April 28th

Saturday Zach had team pictures for Wee Ball.  He looked so darn cute I couldn't help but take a couple too!

Zach is playing Wee Ball in Altoona this Spring.  Tonight was his first practice.  It was absolutely adorable to watch 10 3-year-olds run around the field and play together.  Zach had a blast and can't wait to do it again.

Below is his game schedule in case anyone needs a laugh and wants to watch the chaos on the field.  They play at Lion's Park in Altoona and his team wears yellow jerseys and are the Rays.

Today Zach had his first dentist appointment.  We didn't have to be there until 9, so I took him to work with me for an hour.  He was so well behaved and met and charmed everyone at Pioneer.  At the dentist, he was surprisingly brave and went back by himself and let them clean and polish his teeth.  The dentist told us Zach has excess saliva which causes extra tartar and calculus to build up, but that his teeth and gums looked really healthy and to keep doing what we are doing.  Here he is showing off his healthy teeth.

We had a great night being outside.  Tony and Zach had a Koolaid break, and we got out the sprinkler to beat the heat since it was 89 degress today.  Zach HATES being in wet clothes, so he stripped down.  It is going to be an awesome summer.

Four wheels move the body.  Two wheels move the soul.

I am glad my boys can bond over their shared love of motorcycles, but I am a nervous wreck the whole time they are out of sight riding around the block!

April 22nd

Zach still isn't 100% sure about sleeping in his new bed, but he loves sleeping under it in the "fort"!

April 21st

Tony got invited to the Ankeny Prom by a girl named Jessica he met a few weeks back.  They came over for a few pictures.  She was very nice and great with Zach, and Tony looked so handsome in his tuxedo.  They had a great time dancing the night away.

April 20th - Afternoon

My dad's hip replacement surgery went really well.  The doctor said he had excellent bone quality and there were no surprises.  Now please pray for my mom.  Playing nurse/maid and sitting in uncomfortable hospital chairs for hours and hours sucks, especially while watching someone you love in pain.

April 20th

When I was a little girl, I thought my dad was so strong he was made of steel; after today he actually will be.  Please pray for and send good vibes to my dad this morning as he gets his hip replaced and for a quick recovery.  I hope this surgery finally brings the pain relief he so desperately needs.  Afterall, they are running out of parts to fix!

You tickled my toes....checked for monsters , showed me the stars....and taught me how to reach them...I love you Daddy.

April 18th

Zach's bed arrived today!  We cleaned out his old furniture, and put the new bed together.  Chris and I didn't even cuss at each other while doing it, which makes the whole project a success!  We both like to take charge but we worked together in perfect harmony for our Little Man.  Zach is absolutely head-over-heels in love with this bed.  I surprised him with Avengers sheets with Captain America, the Hulk, and Iron Man on them which was icing on the cake.  We are also making a little fort under the bed complete with lights.  I cannot wait to decorate this room this weekend!

April 17th

Another night, another Superhero project.  Tonight we made Superhero logo bins for Zach's new room.  At first I made Batman, Superman, & Captain America.  Zach saw them and loved them...then he said "You know what would be great?  Spiderman!"  Good thing I love that kid and had extra felt!

April 16th

Around Zach's 3rd birthday, we decided it was time to get him a "real" big boy bed.  He has been sleeping in his converted crib and was quickly outgrowing it.  I researched and scoured the internet looking for the perfect bed for our growing boy.  Chris and I finally decided on one we both loved.  When I finally went to order it, it was back-ordered until April at every store.  It became available last week and I ordered it.  With a new bed comes an excuse to redecorate Zach's room into a Superhero theme.  Tonight we made Superhero magnets for a photo board out of Squinkies.  They are these rubber figures that are about 1/2 inch tall that come in plastic bubbles.  Yeah, I don't get it either, but kids love them.

Chris is teaching quite a few motorcycle classes this year at both DMACC & Big Barn Harley.  Tonight was the first class at Big Barn of the season.  Zach and I used the time alone by going on a Mother/Son date to Smokey D's.  At one point Zach dropped his fork on the ground and politely walked over to a server and ask for a new fork, complete with "please" and "thank you."  They were quite charmed by him, as am I!

Who cares if it's raining if you look this cute in your rain gear?

April 12th

Thursday night my mom and I went to the Barry Manilow concert.  I got tickets through work last minute so it was a fun spur-of-the-moment event.  We got to sit in the Pioneer Suite, and jammed out to Copacobana, Mandy, and many other hits we had forgotten about.

April 10th

It's always an adventure at our house.  Tonight he was Captain America, complete with new shield from Kyle & Amber.  I like it a lot better when he is a good guy.

April 8th - Easter

We had a jammed-packed Easter Sunday with celebrations at our house, Mimi & Papa's, the farm, and Grandma & Papa's.  We feel so blessed to live so close to all of our family and get to share these important days with all of them.  Thanks to everyone for making the day so special!
