May 30th

After all of our hard work, Monday was a day to enjoy the deck!  We had a family water gun fight, laid on the deck, and had supper outside.  Zach and Tony ended the evening by playing in the sandbox.  What a productive weekend!  Thanks again to everyone who helped!

Not much left to do!

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard on getting our deck done this weekend!  We love you all!  The day in pictures...

Before picture

Friday night Chris and I tore all of the old deck boards off of the current deck to get ready for the big deck building party on Saturday.  My knee pads even matched my sweater!

My new favorite spot in the yard.

The motorcycle obsession has already been passed down to the next generation.  Heaven help me.  (cell phone picture)

May 23rd

Getting the pile of wood delivered for our deck addition made the project start to feel real.  Let's get this deck building party started!  :)  (cell phone picture)

May 22rd

Zach was still high from his Elmo concert and insisted sleeping in and wearing his Elmo shirt again today.  When Chris got dressed and put on a Cyclones shirt, Zach wanted to match him and finally changed.  We started the day off making Aunt Jenny a birthday cake.  Zach loves to run the mixer.  Chris went on a Ride to Remember in Ames and met ISU football coach Paul Rhoads, while Zach and I went on a walk and out to lunch with Mimi.  We ended the evening with a birthday bbq at Grandma & Papa's.  It was an AWESOME weekend!

May 21st

This is what pure joy looks like.

Saturday Chris and I took Zach to Elmo & Friends at Wells Fargo Arena.  Our seats were on the floor in the front row, right in the center of the stage.  We got to have a meet & greet with Elmo & Grover before the show.  Zach loved every single second, and I could not stop smiling.  It will definitely go down as one of the top 5 experiences we have had with Zach so far.  Check out the rest of the pictures HERE

A trip to Noodle Zoo isn't complete now without a stop at the nearby playground.  This kid is part monkey!  (cell phone picture)

Another day, another night riding his bike around the neighborhood.

May 16th

Zach and I went on a walk around the neighborhood last night.  He rode his bike the whole time and can actually go pretty fast on it.  Next up...learning to peddle a big bike! (cell phone picture)

May 15th

Tony made Zach a car out of a storage container and pillows and blankets and pushed him around the house.  Tony should be a toy designer!

May 14th

We went to Cedar Rapids on Saturday to visit Chris and to swim in the hotel pool.  Zach had a BLAST!  I have a feeling we are going to do a lot of swimming this summer!

May 13th

Zach found a tractor at Arnie & Cori's house during Jenna's graduation party.  The kid was in heaven with the goats, horse, tractors, trampoline, tools, and toys. (cell phone picture)

May 12th

I interrupt your work day with some BREAKING NEWS…I have a VERY important news story to share.

Last night Zach actually ate a little ice cream.

I realize you might have to read that sentence again to let it truly sink in so I will repeat…my son, Zachary Tate Palmer, actually tried an ice cream treat from the ice cream truck and somewhat enjoyed it last night.

May 12th is a day that will live in infamy in our house.

You may now return to your previously scheduled work day.

May 10th

Zach and I had a blast playing outside while Craig & Chris worked on motorcycles.  We ran through the sprinkler, splashed in his water table, played on the swings, shot squirt guns, and watched the neighbor mow.  This is going to be a GREAT summer with this little guy...as long as I can keep up!

May 10th

On Saturday Zach and I went to Goode's Greenhouse to get some flowers to plant.  It was INSANELY busy, but the colors were just so bright and happy! (cell phone picture)

May 9th

We played at Lion's Park in Urbandale tonight with Randy & Noah since Grandma Palmer had Legion.  The boys had a blast, and Zach was a sweaty dirty mess by the time we left.  (cell phone pictures)

Me and my favorite boy on Mother's Day!

May 7th

This is what happens when a little boy finds a wrapped piece of Easter chocolate in the car and unwraps it himself after it has been sitting in the sun.

May 6th

Zach got a fish squirt gun for Easter from Mimi & Papa, and we decided the bath was the best place for this particular toy!  He LOVES squirting the walls, his own belly, and trying to squirt it in his mouth!  It fits in his chubby little hands just perfectly!  (Notice how dirty that water is...this kid is ALL boy and dirt just finds him!)

Going to Costco is always quite the event for our family.  This trip Zach found a balance motorcycle he fell in love with.  We brought it home and put it together and it was a big hit!  He "raced" Tony down the sidewalk and was smiling the whole time!  I <3 Costco!

Backyard fun at Mimi & Papa's.
