Zach woke up this morning with a fever.  I have to admit, I did enjoy the extra cuddles!

The many faces of Zachary Tate!

Happy Birthday Great Grandma Bailey & Uncle Kyle!  Tonight we went to Kid's Night at Valley West Mall.  Zach had a great time jumping in the inflatables.

May 28th

We had a great Memorial Day running errands and spending time as a family.  When Zach wears these sunglasses, he pretends he is the police and tries to put us in jail.  He is developing quite the imagination.

May 27th

Sunday was a beautiful day for boating!  The lake was packed.  Zach played at the beach and made me soup and a birthday cake out of sand & rocks.  I look forward to many more hot summer days like this one!

Saturday night we had a BBQ at our house to celebrate Chris' cousin Christine visiting from Chicago.  There were 8 kids under the age of 10 plus 13 adults.  It was a tad chaotic but the kids got along great and everyone had fun.  It was a great way to kick off the holiday weekend!

Jumping is hard work!

May 22nd

Tuesday night we got a trampoline and set it up in the backyard.  Zach is in heaven, but I think Tony is even happier about it!  Chris was reluctant because he is just sure someone is going to get hurt.  It has a safety enclosure so hopefully that will help.  Putting it together Tony & I each cut ourselves and Chris pinched his finger...so hopefully those are the last injuries to report.

Being silly with my little monkey...

Zach has never met a park he didn't like.  He is all boy and could play for hours!

Sunday afternoon Zach went downstairs to watch Tony play his video game and fell asleep like this after 5 minutes.  Playing hard is tiring work!

May 19th - Baseball Video

Zach's last baseball game was Saturday.  A 3 week season for 3 year olds was perfect!  I created a video of a some pictures and videos from the season.  Make sure your volume is turned up because there is music too.  I can't wait to show this to Zach when he is all grown up.

If you can't see the video, you can also view it at this link.

Friday night we took Zach to Sesame Street Live.  He was in total awe just like last year.  We sat in the third row on the floor, and our seats were on the end on an aisle so all of the characters walked by and rubbed Zach's head.  He got the BIGGEST grin every time!

I take a lot of pictures and share a lot about Zach, but I can't believe how much I have forgotten already.  I want to forever remember all of the cute things he says and does, so today I am going to list things that make me smile right now.
  • He says "I think we have a mystery on our hands" at least once a day. (He LOVES Scooby Doo)
  • He says "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"  He is never thinking what I am thinking :)
  • When I ask him how much he loves me, he says "I love you to the moon & back!" with the biggest smile
  • While driving in the car, he will point to a building and say "What do there?" and I have to tell him the nature of the business.  I make up a lot of it because I have no idea, but he remembers EVERYTHING so if I tell him something different than the time before, he calls me on it.
  • He calls Mimi & Papa's dog Gracie "Damn Dog" at least once every time he sees her.  He says it with such passion and disgust that it is really hard to scold him because I am laughing so hard.
  • He could eat a whole container of blueberries in one sitting if you let him.  He could also eat a large bag of Cheetos Puffs in a matter of minutes.  Chocolate milk is his favorite drink.
  • Every night before bed he asks if we can watch "one teeny tiny show" together.
  • If he hears something he doesn't like, he says "Ohhhhhh maaaan."
  • He knows all of the days of the week, but not the order.  He will randomly pick out a day and ask what we are doing that day.  He likes to know what is coming up.  Typical conversation:
    • Z: What are we doing Thursday?
    • Me: You have a baseball game on Thursday.  It's a Karen Day.  After Karen's I will pick you up and take you to baseball.
    • Z: When is Thursday?
    • Me: Tomorrow
    • Z: When is tomorrow?
    • Me: 1 more sleep
    • Z: Ok, what are we doing Friday.
    • Rinse.  Repeat.  Beat head against wall because it is an endless loop.  :)
  • He says "You gotta be kidding me!" if he is surprised.
  • If you say something he really likes, he says "That what me talking about!"
  • He asks Chris & I what we want to be when we get bigger.  If you ask him, depending on the day, he wants to be a policeman, a fireman, an Army man, or Justin Beiber.
  • His favorite song is Boyfriend by Justin Beiber.  He asks for it to be turned up LOUD when it is on.
  • He pretends to text his "friends" on old cell phones.
  • Playing "gun shoot" with Tony is his all time favorite activity.
  • He loves to watch Batman and Lego videos on You Tube.  If you find him one, he knows how to get to the related videos and find more and more.
  • He brings more joy into our family than we ever thought possible.

May 13th - Mother's Day

I had the BEST Mother's Day yet!  The boys brought me breakfast in bed.  They made pancakes together, and Zach was in charge of flipping.  Hearing them work together downstairs planning their surprise was the most adorable thing I have ever heard.  Last week Chris asked Zach what they should get me for Mother's Day.  Zach told him he heard on television that girls liked beautiful pink spring dresses (where in the world did he come up with that??), so Chris found one for my present.  Zach was so proud when I wore it to brunch.  He told me I looked beautiful at least 5 times and I almost melted every time.  We had a great day with both sides of the family.  This mom couldn't have asked for more!

May 11th

Thursday afternoon Tony sent me a text that said "Just wondering, but would Zach like to skip Karen's tomorrow and hang out? :)"  When I got home, Tony had a whole list of things written up and a schedule planned out for them to do.  They started the morning off with breakfast at Burger King and some shopping at Target.  Zach got a new Captain America costume.  Tony prepared a picnic lunch outside for them and even included Couper.  They took a two hour nap and then met me at the Avengers movie at the theater.  Zach really liked the action parts but had to be reminded a few times to whisper during the slow sections.  All and all, he did great for a 2.5 hour non-animated movie.  His favorite man was The Hawk because he shoots a bow & arrow.  I am not sure who enjoyed the day more, Tony or Zach!

The boys sent me Mother's Day flowers at work that brightened my day!

May 10th

Tonight's game was more chaotic than usual.  All of the kids seemed more wound up than normal.  The first picture pretty much explains the night.  During Zach's last at-bat, he actually walked to 1st base instead of running.  We had a long talk about effort and staying on task, so we will see what Saturday brings!  At least he had fun.
