We are FINALLY making some progress on potty-training, and we could not be HAPPIER about it!
It seems we only get the camera out on holidays and "big" occasions. My goal for 2011 is to take a picture each day of the normal everyday moments that make us a family. This blog is to keep the images together so one day Zach can enjoy them.

Today Tony & Zach made cookies, and all 3 boys played "army men". I am the luckiest girl in the world to have them in my life.

Ever since we went to Baconfest, Zach has wanted to have our own Baconfest. This morning we went to Mimi & Papa's to check on them and the boys enjoyed some bacon.

Zach finds Papa's hospital bed pretty entertaining. He figiured out the adjust buttons in about 5 seconds. I hope to never see him in a hospital bed again.

My dad's surgery went really well yesterday. Hopefully it will provide him some relief. As they wheeled him out of surgery into his room, he told the nurse to grab his pants, that he was going home. Thank goodness for good pain meds! He will probably have to stay in the hospital for a couple of days to heal. He is worried about getting in and out of his recliner at home, so tonight we built him a platform for his chair to sit on. Thank you Chris for always being my emotional rock, and going along with whatever hair-brain idea I conjure up.

Please say a little prayer today for my dad as he has pretty major back surgery. He is the smartest, strongest, most handsome, and bravest man I know, and watching him in so much pain these last few months has been so hard on our family.
Good luck Daddy! I love you!

3 years ago today Zach got to leave the NICU and come home...on Mimi's birthday & Valentine's Day. It is pretty hard to top that birthday present for her, but we will continue to try every year. Her favorite present this year? Zach in a gift bag of course! Happy Birthday Mom! The only thing better than having you for a mother is my children having you for a Mimi!

Last night Craig was sworn in as Commander of the Sons of the American Legion post. Yay Craig! The boys went to the dinner and ceremony and I enjoyed the peace and finished Zach's daycare Valentines. I put candy (bath squirters & bubbles for the babies) in a pail with a scoop and a tag that says "I dig you". You dig with a scoop...get it? :) Happy Valentine's Day & Mimi's Birthday eve!

Zach has become obsessed with Army Men for the past few days. He sat and played BY HIMSELF for about 45 minutes today. That is like 2 weeks in 3 year old time. He even took some in the bath with him tonight. Thank GOD for Army Men, both real and plastic!
Before bed tonight we watched a little bit of the Grammy Awards. (How do you explain Lady Gaga's mesh outfit to a toddler??) Zach decided Baby Buddy wanted to be part of the family too. Watching my husband snuggle my baby snuggling his baby is almost too much for this mama to take. My cup runneth over!

Tony & Zach both received Nerf guns for Christmas from Santa. They have been a BIG hit to say the least. Tonight Zach was Spider Man & Tony was Thor. There is nothing better than a house filled with laughter & imagination...and flying darts!

We have taken Zach to a lot of pretty amazing places for some really awesome experiences in his short 3 years. Tonight he reminded us how special everyday moments can be. He had the time of his life riding up and down the escalator at the Home Show with Mimi & Papa.
While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.

A wee bit of dirt and a devilish grin,
Curious eyes and spaghetti sauce chin.
A dollop of mud behind his right ear,
And a handful of worms in his pocket I fear.
You see his knees through the holes in his jeans,
He likes ice cream but won't eat his beans.
He's made of mudpies and bubble gum kisses
And wonder at Christmas and birthday wishes.
And a heap of giggles and wiggles and love;
These are the things little boys are made of.

Sunday we had a nice relaxing day at home. Chris and Zach played in the garage for awhile. I was summoned to come check out the "jump" they had created for Zach's bike. My heart about skipped a beat when I saw it. Luckily it was a joke to get me going. It worked!
We went to Casa de Huntrod to watch the Super Bowl. Zach & Uncle Kyle played a pretty awesome half-time show for us, and Mimi enjoyed some cuddles, even if it did include a toy musket.

We FINALLY got some snow to play in! Zach was so excited to put on his snow pants Saturday and go outside to play. Tony made a pretty awesome snowman and Zach got to get out his new snowmobile sled he got for Christmas. The hill in our front yard was perfect. This is seriously one of my top 10 moments with Zach so far! This first picture is what pure joy looks like when you are 3!
February 1st
We are absolutely loving this winter heat wave! Tony & Zach rode bikes to the "tractor store" (Tractor Supply) and had a blast. I am officially getting Spring Fever!
