During Zach's last trip in the bounce house, I started to get a migraine. My vision got blurry and I knew I couldn't safely drive us home. What's a girl to do when her husband is out of town and she is stranded with a 3 year old? She calls her mom! My parents came to pick us up and watched Zach for an hour so I could sleep it off.
Once I felt better, we went home and played outside. The combination of the black face paint and being outside made Zach's eyes glow bright blue. I couldn't get enough!
When Chris got home Zach rode his pedal tractor to Tractor Supply to see the baby chicks while we walked. It was a GREAT day (minus the migraine)!
Note: No baby chicks were hurt during our trip to Tractor Supply. It may appear Zach is squeezing one to death, but I assure you it was just fine when we left. :)
It seems we only get the camera out on holidays and "big" occasions. My goal for 2011 is to take a picture each day of the normal everyday moments that make us a family. This blog is to keep the images together so one day Zach can enjoy them.
March 31st - Dinosaurs
We had a VERY busy weekend and I took a ton of pictures. Instead of blogging by day, I am going to blog by event.
Saturday Chris had a motorcycle meeting, so Zach & I headed to the fairgrounds for "Discover the Dinosaurs". It is a hands-on traveling exhibit including over 60 animatronic and museum quality dinosaur replicas plus a kids-zone with inflatables, rides, etc. The bounce house and face painting were Zach's favorite. Even in a place filled with dinosaurs, he wanted Batman.

Tonight we had a nice birthday dinner at Craig & Peggy's. Zach played outside and the big boys showed off their motorcycles. It is definitely in the Palmer genes to like being on two-wheels.

Happy 35th Birthday to an amazing daddy & husband! Chris had a great birthday. He rode his motorcycle to work, had dinner at his favorite restaurant Noodle Zoo, played with Zach at the park, and had brownies before bed. Here's to many, many more! Don't worry about being closer to 40 than 30 now...you keep getting better and better with age!

Zach and I had a great little road trip to Iowa City. Before we left town we stopped at the gas station for snacks. Zach picked Cheetos Puffs and chocolate milk. Calories and nutrition don't count while traveling.
On the way home we did a little (ok, a lot) of shopping. Zach picked out a new Wolverine mask. While we were gone Tony did some shopping too and got more Nerf guns. Heaven help us.

Saturday morning started off with an Easter Egg Hunt at Hy-Vee in Altoona and a nice walk back to Mimi & Papa's. Instead of a therapy dog, Papa has a therapy-Zach to walk with.
Chris was in Iowa City teaching a motorcycle class and filling in for a co-worker on vacation Thursday - Sunday. Zach and I decided it would be a good excuse for a getaway so we stayed Saturday night at the hotel and spent a bunch of time swimming. My boy is a fish.

You can thank Zach for the nice dry weather today. He got a new pirate umbrella yesterday...so now it won't rain for a week!
