Tuesday was Zach's last day of 3 year-old Preschool. This is a picture of his first day and his last day. It has been so amazing to watch him blossom this year and enjoy learning so much.
They had a little program at school. The kids sang a few songs and then played outside. I could watch 3 & 4 year olds forever. They are so innocent and happy and full of joy. We will miss Mrs. Megan so much. She made his/our first school experience wonderful and Zach truly loved going to school everyday. I hope that continues in the future.
It seems we only get the camera out on holidays and "big" occasions. My goal for 2011 is to take a picture each day of the normal everyday moments that make us a family. This blog is to keep the images together so one day Zach can enjoy them.

Saturday we headed to Nevada for a graduation party. My boy immediately found the cupcakes and picked the one with the most frosting to devour. We spent the rest of the day shopping in Ames and headed to HuHot for dinner. Zach showed off his (cheater) chop-stick skills!

Tuesday Zach & Chris got to spend the afternoon watching the I Cubs play a double-header with Papa & Uncle David. David got tickets from his company and they were in the first row behind the visiting teams dugout. A player gave Zach a ball and he thought he was BIG stuff. They had a blast and had some good male bonding! Go Cubbies!

Last week was crazy busy. Monday & Tuesday Chris was in Omaha for work. Wednesday he helped my dad put the boat in the water at Red Rock and didn't get home until late. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday he taught class at Big Barn Harley. The only family time we really had was Saturday night in Ames. Sunday Zach and I went to Hy-Vee and I planned out family meals for the whole week. I even put a menu for each night on the fridge. I felt so adult! :) Tonight we made BLT-unwhiches. Instead of bread you use lettuce. They were amazing with peppered bacon and farmer's market juicy tomatoes! It was a great start to the week and the nice family dinner we missed last week.

Saturday was a busy day for our family. I got up early and went to the Farmer's Market with my mom. Zach had his last Wee Ball game. We visited a new park in Altoona, and we finished the night off by watching Wreck it Ralph at Jack Trice stadium in Ames. It was awesome to be on the field under the lights with hundreds of other families. I love a family fun day!

Saturday night while I went bar hopping Chris and Zach hung out at the hotel. They ordered pizza and watched racing...it doesn't get much more American than that!
On Mother's Day Chris and Zach rode the motorcycle to Grandma Bailey's to give her a gift. They walked around and saw baby ducks and where a fox lived. Zach thought it was pretty cool!

God sure knew what he was doing when he brought the 2 of us together. I was born to be this little boy's mama and it is a privilege I don't take lightly.
We had a great Sunday and got to celebrate with my mom & Chris' mom, which we both feel beyond blessed to have such amazing mothers. Chris even got to spend some time with Grandma Palmer & Grandma Bailey. The highlight of my day though was getting to take a nap cuddled up to Zach in the afternoon. That boy completes me and brings such joy to our family. I am the luckiest mother in the world!

Today the Huntrod family headed to Cedar Falls to watch my cousin Kate graduate from UNI with a degree in Communications. Zach was SO excited to visit where the Panthers play and get to hang out with family. We had fun taking "selfies" waiting for the ceremony to start. Chris had a little trouble staying awake. After the graduation we headed to Kate's apartment for a great dinner and pictures. Saturday night she took us out drinking on "The Hill". Sunday morning life gave me a not so nice reminder that I am not 25 anymore.

On a whim tonight I colored my hair red. It is darker than I expected but it is just a 28 day wash out so it should lighten a bit. Chris LOVES it...and since he was the target audience I am happy too!

Zach had another Wee Ball game tonight. The weather was perfect and he had the biggest fan section ever! Thanks to everyone for coming out and cheering on our Little Man! After the game we stopped at the nursing home so Great Grandma Palmer could see Zach in his uniform.

I wish I was an Oscar Mayer wiener,
That is what I truly want to be.
'Cause if I was an Oscar Mayer wiener,
Everyone would be in love with me!
